Dear Readers,
Belated Happy New Year. So we are all happy that Obama is finally President, right? I wish he had a magic wand. What he inherits is a tough economy mired in unemployment, mortgage-related fraud by Wall Street Bankers and Mortgage Lenders and everyone in between, and no meaningful health insurance / benefits for a quarter of Americans. While it helps to feel secure in an Obama running the country as opposed to the lame duck Bush, is there any security at all?
Socially pressurized to go for that beamer or that house by the lake (or by the beach, if you are in California) or that six-figure job which makes you less and less happy as time rolls on, Americans have forgotten to analyze what their lives really mean, may be? If at the age of 20 the goal of life is " My Car" and if at the age of 35 the goal of life is "My Home", the results would have to be what we have today: Ford/GM/Chrysler CEOs with begging bowls in Washington D.C. for some croutons from the $785 billion Fed bailout; foreclosed houses being increasingly occupied by the homeless; jobs and livelihoods on the brinks of vanishing with the blink of an eye.Franteractive's Global Economy Portal aims to educate the rank-and-file gullible American from being ripped off by the next financial scam, whether it is "affordable housing", or "my cushy job for life", or "my three fast cars that make my neighbor's wife really envious."
